How is a Laminate made?Laminates are paper based products and are made of different layers of impregnated papers. The bottom layer is a Brown Absorbent Kraft Paper impregnated with Phenolic Resin. The middle layer or final layer is the Design Paper impregnated with Melamine Resin. An optional third layer is an Overlay Sheet which is impregnated with Melamine Resin. All these papers are stacked together and sand-witched between Stainless Steel plates. They are compressed and baked under high temperature and pressure for about an hour, making them strong, as well as beautiful.

What is the thickness of a Laminate Sheet?Usually laminate sheets have various thicknesses ranging from 0.5 mm to 18 mm. While, decorative laminates come in 0.7 mm,0.8 mm,0.9 mm and 1.0 mm thickness, industrial laminates are hard laminates and come in various thicknesses upto 18 mm.
